{"id":1301,"date":"2013-12-31T12:10:29","date_gmt":"2013-12-31T10:10:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wittwer.nl\/?p=1301"},"modified":"2015-01-09T12:23:11","modified_gmt":"2015-01-09T10:23:11","slug":"my-bundeswehr-army","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wittwer.nl\/?p=1301","title":{"rendered":"My Bundeswehr army"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My 20mm (1\/72) Bundeswehr Cold War army has reached an intermediate goal: I have finished a mixed company-sized armored force, consisting of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Panzerzug<\/em>, 4x Leopard 2 A4 (Revell)<\/li>\n<li><em>Panzergrenadierzug<\/em>, 3x Marder A2 (Revell, <a title=\"Turning the Revell 1\/72 Marder into the A2 version\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wittwer.nl\/?p=1036\">modified<\/a>) with Elhiem infantry<\/li>\n<li><em>Panzeraufkl\u00e4rungszug<\/em>, Leopard 1 A4 (ESCI) &amp; Luchs (Revell)<\/li>\n<li><em>Unterst\u00fctzungszug<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Flugabwehrkanonenpanzer <\/em>Gepard (Altaya, repainted)<\/li>\n<li><em>Panzerpioniergruppenfahrzeug <\/em>Fuchs (Revell)<\/li>\n<li><em>Materialtrupp <\/em>LKW 7t gl (Revell)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><em>Panzerabwehrhubschrauber<\/em> PAH-1 (Airfix, <a title=\"PAH-1\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wittwer.nl\/?p=1198\">modified<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other possible additions could be<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Bergepanzer<\/em> M88 (S&amp;S models)<\/li>\n<li><em>Panzerm\u00f6rser 120mm <\/em> on M113 chassis (Minor conversion required, based on Italeri M106) &#8211; the Bundeswehr used many M113 variants<\/li>\n<li><em>Beobachtungspanzer M113,<\/em> resin model by The Hobby Den or conversion kit by <a href=\"http:\/\/modelltrans.de\/home\/\">Modelltrans<\/a>, they also have kits and conversion sets for other vehicles<\/li>\n<li><em>Panzerschnellbr\u00fccke Biber<\/em> (Revell, currently sold in a set with the ATF Dingo)<\/li>\n<li><em>Fuchs<\/em> Ambulance (Revell) &#8211; Revell also produced other Fuchs variants (basic <em>Transportpanzer<\/em>, ECM version, NBC version)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I&#8217;m also considering to add another Luchs and Leopard 1. When looking further than an armored force, there are more possibilities. S&amp;S models make the LKW 1,5t GL (Unimog type 404, used e.g. as VHF radio truck) and LKW 2t GL (Unimog 1300, used in many roles), and probably still have a mold for the Iltis. Revell make or made the LKW 5t gl and 10t gl. I, however, am more interested in a <em>Fallschirmj\u00e4ger <\/em>(airborne) force. S&amp;S have the KraKa in several variants. Revell makes the Bell UH-1D.
