As I had already hinted at in my post about Clan Mech availability, I wanted to build and paint a typical Clan Wolf Star and ended up with two Timber Wolfs, one Stormcrow, one Mad Dog, and an Ice Ferret, to use the Clan names. One Timber Wolf is the new IWM A-config miniature, the others are the resculpts of approx. 20 years ago. Some of the molds are starting to show their age and have some mold lines. I’m also not the biggest fan of the Ice Ferret sculpt, which is somewhat difficult to pose and too large compared to the others.

Camospecs has paint schemes for the various Clan Wolf galaxies, but these are all retconned in my opinion. In earlier lore, it was always stated that Clan Wolf units are painted grey. I don’t really like the Camospecs Wolf schemes, except for the Alpha Galaxy one that I used 20 years ago on my original sculpt miniatures, but I didn’t want to have another green unit as my Inner Sphere Mechs are already green. So grey it was. The main colors are Vallejo Medium Grey and Sky Grey, with pure white for some of the edge highlights. 

I’m quite happy with how these turned out. I especially like the beefy Timber Wolf A (second from left), it’s a good-looking sculpt.
